"Design, music and movement play an important role in my life. For me many creative forms of expression have a fascinating aura and I truly respect good art work.
The cornerstones of my own creative path were placed early - as a kid I had ballett dance lessons and learned how to play instruments and I spent hours on my own drawing, painting or designing stuff seclusively somewhere at home.
It also came in handy that I performed regularly in my home town - I got used to present my stuff in front of crowds at an early age. As a logical consequence of my interests, I studied design after having
graduated from school, then started working as a freelance designer, in the same time also being part of some dance-theater productions, and taking on my dance classes."
Besides training in classical ballett and modern dance Keiko Schmitt got into fire spinning and dancing with fire tools in 2007. First shows with different fire dancers and
compagnies followed in the same year. Meanwhile there is a varied repertoire of choreographed shows and technical skills to choose from, for example
poi, hand (palm) torches, fire fans, ropes, and levistick.
Training in fire artistry and dancing on a regular base provide a steady improvement of shows and performances. Besides solo performances
Tanzlicht K stands on stage with German and international fire artists and dancers.
