"Design, music and movement play important roles in my life. For me many forms of creativity are fascinating and I truly respect good art work.
The first steps of my own creative path were made when I was a little kid - I went to ballett school, learned how to play some instruments and spent a lot of time on my own drawing, painting or designing things.
It also came in handy that I performed regularly in my home town - I got used to presenting myself in front of crowds at an early age. Logical consequence of these interests, I studied design after having
graduated from school and started working as a freelance designer. In the same time I worked for some dance-theater productions and continued going to dance classes."
Besides training in classical ballett and modern dance, Keiko Schmitt got into fire spinning and dancing with fire tools in 2007. First shows with different fire dancers and companies followed the same year. Meanwhile there is a varied selection of choreographed shows and technical skills to choose from, for example
poi, hand (palm) torches, fire fans, ropes, and levistick.
Continuous training in fire artistry and dancing helps to improve shows and performances steadily. Besides her solo performances
Tanzlicht K works for and with different German and international fire artists and dancers.
